Salsa Fabrics Quilter's Quickest Recipes

               Strawberry Spinach Salad:
              
               1 pkg. of fresh spinach, torn into bite size pieces
               1 bunch of green onions, chopped (using both the green and white parts)
               1 pint of fresh strawberries, sliced
              
               3/4 C almonds, either slivered or sliced OR 1 C pecan pieces
               1 Tbsp. butter
               2 Tbsp. sesame seeds
               1 Tbsp. white sugar
              
               In a frying pan, melt the butter, nuts, and sesame seeds and cook for 2 minutes
               on low heat.  Stir constantly.
               Sprinkle with the sugar and continue heating and stirring until the nuts are golden brown. 
               Break into small pieces.  This step can be done ahead.
              
               DRESSING:
               Combine the following in a small mixing bowl:
               3 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
               3 Tbsp. white wine OR rice vinegar
               3 Tbps. white sugar
               1 tsp. salt
               1 tsp. black pepper
               Whisk in 1/2 cupt olive oil
              
               When ready to serve combine the spinach, onions and strawberries in a
               salad bowl.  Pour on enough dressing to coat.
               Sprinkle with the nutty crunch mixture and serve.
               Pass the remaining dressing.
              
               This is a very pretty as well as delicious salad
