Salsa Fabrics Quilter's Quickest Recipes

Posole:
Okay, if you are really going to immerse yourself in a big quilt
project, you need a recipe that will feed the hungery mob for at
least two days.  Here's my "Oh, I cooked all day for my family!"
recipe.   I'm from Arizona so it has to be Mexican food and it's
called Posole.  Very delicious, nutricious and it will get them off
your back!  Take prepackaged smoked ham chunks and chicken
thighs, about 1 1/2 lbs. each.  Put them into boiling water in a
large kettle with a quartered onion.  Turn down heat and let simmer
for about an hour.  This hour can be used trying to find another
blade for your rotary cutter.  When chicken falls off the bone,
meat is cooked, remove chicken bones and half of the water left
in the pot.  Pour in two cans of "Mexican style Hominy" and
some oregano and red chili powder or flakes.  Let this simmer
while you cut out triangles.  When the selfish people called your
family walks in the door, they wil be greeted with a wonderful
smell and you can dish up this soup and still retain the title of
Most Wonderful Mother in the Universe.  While ladling the
soup up, have someone heat a few tortillas.  This may not sound
like a quickie dinner, but anything that only requires boiling
really is fast.  While they are gorging themselves you can look
through your extensive stash for that piece of yellow fabric.
