Linda M Designs
We asked Linda McLaughlin of 
Linda M Designs if she would design
 something for us, using a Salsa Fabric batik
 and some of her own hand-dyed fabrics.

"When I saw the batik fabric I knew that I
 wanted to keep the piece as whole as possible because of the wonderful design".

Featuring her own hand dyes
and left over batik.

"The back & the right front are the batik,
the left sleeve is batik , the right sleeve is
appliquéd hand dyed". 
"There was just enough fabric left to do the
right front & piece the left sleeve. The right
sleeve is also appliquéd to tie the design together".  "There is a wonderfull green
border on both selvage edges. It's on the bottom edge of the batik part of the jacket, also used on the collar band of the left front".
"Almost forgot--it's lined in hand dyed silk."

"I traced the floral pattern in the
batik and appliquéd that onto
the left front".

"I was able to feature the change of design in the batik
on the back, the floral pattern in the bronze section of the
back is my favorite part of the fabric, so I simplified it a bit
and used it for the pattern for the applique on the front".
